Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Monoroll and any services provided through the app or website. By using Monoroll, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The Service

Monoroll is a shared camera roll app that lets groups of people contribute photos to a shared collection. The app is available on iOS. Guests can join rolls without downloading the app via Apple App Clips, which provide a lightweight version of the app experience.

Accounts

Creating a roll requires an account. You can sign in with Apple or with your email address using a one-time verification code. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and devices secure.

Guests who join via QR code or invite link do not need an account. They only provide a display name to participate.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all photos you upload to Monoroll. By uploading photos, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process (including applying visual effects), display, and deliver them to other roll members for the purpose of providing the service.

Photos may be processed on your device before upload, including the application of visual filters and effects. The processed version is what gets uploaded and shared within the roll.

You are responsible for the content you upload. Don't upload anything illegal, harmful, abusive, or that infringes on others' intellectual property or privacy rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

Rolls and Sharing

When you create a roll, you control who can join via QR codes and invite links. Anyone with access to the QR code or link can join the roll. You are responsible for sharing invite links only with intended participants.

Photos in a roll are visible to all members of that roll. When a roll's develop timer expires, all photos become visible to all members simultaneously. Once revealed, photos cannot be un-revealed.

The roll creator can delete a roll at any time, which permanently removes all associated photos from our servers.

App Clips

Monoroll uses Apple App Clips to allow guests to join rolls without installing the full app. App Clip sessions may use ephemeral push notifications as permitted by Apple. The App Clip experience is subject to the same terms as the full app.

Payment and Subscriptions

Monoroll offers free and paid features. Paid features are billed through the Apple App Store as in-app purchases. We do not handle billing directly. For refunds or billing disputes, contact Apple through the App Store.

We reserve the right to modify pricing and available features at any time. Changes to pricing will not affect active purchases retroactively.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Monoroll to spam, harass, threaten, or harm others
• Upload illegal, obscene, or infringing content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app
• Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or use automated tools to access the service
• Use Monoroll for any purpose not intended by the service
• Abuse system resources or create an unreasonable load on our infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Monoroll. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission.

Privacy

Your use of Monoroll is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the service, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason. This includes but is not limited to using the app for unintended purposes, creating an unreasonable number of rolls, using excessive resources, or any abuse of the service as determined at our sole discretion.

Intellectual Property

Monoroll, including its design, code, logo, and branding, is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our written permission.

Availability

We strive to keep Monoroll available at all times, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

Limitation of Liability

Monoroll is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, photos, or content.

We are not responsible for the content uploaded by other users in rolls you participate in.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Account deletion permanently removes your profile data and authentication credentials. Photos you uploaded to rolls owned by others may remain in those rolls.

Termination

You can stop using Monoroll at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to other users or the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, you agree to first attempt to resolve it informally by contacting us. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal proceedings. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action or representative proceeding.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be removed without affecting the validity of the remaining terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of Monoroll after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with the changes, your remedy is to stop using the service.
